No Matter What, Do Not Turn Back!
There are many times that we can feel like we are not keeping head above water - but keep treading girl, you will get there, if you don't give up.
Today - all I want to do is be an encouragement to you.
I was reading 1 Samuel 12:20-25 and just found it to be so inspiring and up-lifting and had to share it with you. Click here for your free scripture download.
It is encouraging because no matter what your past looks like, and in fact, it does not matter if you've just sinned and you feel like everything is crashing down on you. This scripture pleads with you not to turn away from God - but to run towards Him.
We all sin. Period. We have all made mistakes that we may regret for the rest of our lives. Is God not bigger than your sin? Is the work of the cross not able to also set you free?
Yes, turn away from your sin and choose life. Serve God with all your heart and plug back into your church community where you can practice being accountable to people who love you and want to help you stay rooted and grounded in the grace and love of God.
The life offered up by the world will never fill the empty void that it leaves you with once it has spat you out and you have nothing to show for the years of loyalty you've shown it.
Satan has a way of magnifying shame and disappointment when you've done something wrong, and it makes it difficult to go back to the people who love and care about you. But remember - 'Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.' Jesus has already overcome the world and all you need to do is take a bold step in the right direction and fall into the arms of our saviour Jesus Christ.
In Christ, there is a life filled with grace, mercy, joy, peace (beyond measure), and a love so abundant that all you will want to do is share it with others so that they too can experience the peace and freedom that you have.
So again, I encourage you, urge you and plead with you: Whatever you are facing today - don't turn away from God and don't give up hope. Cling to the scripture in 1 Sam 12:22
'For the Lord will not forsake His people, for His great name's sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you His people.'
